Smith's century puts WP in commanding position Sports Staff - 13 October 2001
A brilliant 154 not out by opener Graeme Smith put WP in a commanding position at the end of day two in their Supersport Series match against the Strikers at the Wanderers. Smith batted the entire day in compiling his 154 not out which included 18 fours. At the end of the day WP had build up a commandimg lead of 145 runs with five wickets in hand. Smith was ably supported by Andrew Puttick(51) and Niel Johnson(74). The Gauteng bowlers struggled as WP piled on the runs with Walter Masimula claiming two wickets for 52 runs off 11 overs. © Cricinfo
