Zimbabwe have now lost 16 one-day internationals in a row, extending their record of consecutive losses by a current Test-playing nation. Excluding matches against Bangladesh, this was Zimbabwe's 21st successive one-day defeat. Longest one-day losing streak (as a Test-playing nation)

New Zealand's losing streak was part of a run of 13 defeats in 15 games, with the other two no-results.

Grant and Andy Flower added 146, a third-wicket record for Zimbabwe in one-dayers against Pakistan. The previous best was 102, by Alistair Campbell and Dave Houghton at Rawalpindi in 1993-94.

Sean Ervine took 3 for 29, his best bowling figures for Zimbabwe. His previous best was 2 for 45, against Sri Lanka in the first match of this tournament. Ervine is playing in his fifth ODI.
