Ashley Giles today joined the long line of England players having second, third and fourth thoughts about the tour of India. Giles, whose wife Stine is five and a half months pregnant, told Cricket365 that although the British high commissioner from Delhi spoke to the players on Tuesday about their security on tour, he had not put all their minds completely at rest.

"On an individual basis I've felt that if it came down to a majority decision then I would go along with that," said Giles." But my wife is already very concerned and her feelings have to come first. She's pregnant and already has Anders, our 18-month-old, to look after. Obviously in her condition any extra stress isn't going to do her much good."

But Giles, who missed England's one-day tour to Zimbabwe because of injury, said that he hadn't made his mind up yet."We'll be sitting down over the next couple of days to discuss the pros and cons."

The English players have been criticised in the Indian media for a fear of India itself rather than of any real security threat following the atrocities of September 11 and the subsequent bombing of Afghanistan.

The players have been told to let the ECB know by midday on Friday whether they are willing to tour or not. Since the meeting on Tuesday, Craig White has also said that he still has misgivings.
