Ellman-Brown resigns as Managing Director Zimbabwe Cricket Union - 14 November 2001
Zimbabwe Cricket Union announces that David Ellman-Brown has decided to resign his position as Managing Director of the Union with effect from 31 January 2002. Peter Chingoka. Chairman of ZCU, confirmed that ZCU Board of Directors had accepted David Ellman-Brown's resignation with sadness. He said, "The Union has an appreciation for David's achievements during his time as Chief Executive since 1998 and, under the recent restructure of the organization, as Managing Director. Many will also recall that David had an illustrious career as a voluntary administrator for Mashonaland Cricket Association and Zimbabwe Cricket Union culminating in his Presidency of the Union from 1990 to 1992." Chingoka added that, "His current contract was due to run to the end of July 2002 but his early departure has been precipitated by family reasons. The Board of Directors acknowledges these unfortunate circumstances which are beyond his control. However, the cricket fraternity is pleased that David is not lost totally from cricket as he remains a respected Life President of the Union, a position of honor that he has held since 1992.
ZCU Media Release concludes by stating that a successor to David Ellman-Brown as Managing Director will be recruited with the least possible disruption in the management of ZCU's affairs.
