THE ZIMBABWEANS IN SOUTH AFRICA, 1999-2000 Wisden CricInfo staff - November 19, 2001
In advance of South Africa's 1999-2000 series against England, the Zimbabweans crossed the Limpopo River for their first Test in South Africa, the first to be staged at Bloemfontein's Springbok Park. South Africa won both that match and the one in Harare a fortnight later. The games were not regarded as constituting a series. The results emphasised the disparity between the two countries, although neither was at full strength. The gap was less apparent at one-day level when Zimbabwe returnedto South Africa, later in the season, to join England and the hosts in a triangular tournament.
