Gilchrist will play second Test, says Steve Waugh

Australian captain Steve Waugh said in New Delhi on Tuesday that his deputy Adam Gilchrist's injury was minor and the wicketkeeper batsman will play in the second Test in Kolkata starting March 11.
"It is only a small side strain. He will be ready to play the second Test," Waugh told reporters after his team piled up 413 for eight on the opening day of the three-day match against Board President's XI.
Gilchrist had been ruled out of this match after he sustained a hip strain and a replacement, Brad Haddin, was flown in from Australia. Waugh expressed satisfaction with his team's performance today and said it was good preparation for the Kolkata Test starting on March 11.
Waugh said "It's a good score... We just wanted to spend some time in the middle and it came out well." He hoped opener Michael Slater, who has struggled on this tour, will come good before the Test. "He is a fine batsman and has scored 14 Test centuries. He knows how to do it (regain his form)," he said.
