Midlands v CFX Academy John Ward - 2 March 2001
Almost incessant rain in Kwekwe has led to the abandonment of the first day's play in this match without a ball being bowled. Although the pitch has been well covered and remains dry, the outfield has received such a soaking that play has proved impossible. The ground drains well, and after a dry morning there were hopes that play might be possible in the afternoon, but more rain after lunch finally put paid to these plans. The ground drains well and there is hope for play on the second day, if only the rain will stop. The luckless Midlands team, after their washout in Mutare two weeks ago, has now lost all of its first four days in the Logan Cup competition to the weather.
