Pramodya Wickremasinghe
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 27, 2001
Wisden overview A highly experienced fast bowler who hails from Sanath Jayasuriya's home town of Matara, Wickremasinghe has taken more Test wickets for Sri Lanka than anyone bar Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas. Although he is older than his rivals, his experience has kept him in the frame for selection and he was a member of the seam attack on the 2000-01 tour of South Africa. His steadiness has meant a long involvement in one-day cricket and he is one of a select core of Sri Lankans who played in the last three World Cups. He bowled the first ball in the winning final of the 1996 tournament, in which he had the unwelcome distinction of playing four matches without taking a wicket. Simon Wilde
