Marlon Black
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 22, 2001
Wisden overview Marlon Black was one of the discoveries of the 2000-01 Australian tour. He took 4 for 83 in the first Test at Brisbane, swinging the ball both ways from a sturdy if rustic action, then faded away and was dropped for the last two matches of a series West Indies lost 5-0. He seemed unprepared either for the volume of cricket or the level of public exposure, making his first press conference look like an interrogation by the Vice Squad. His confidence took a further battering after a brutal mugging outside the Colonial Stadium, Melbourne, towards the end of that tour. He returned to the West Indies side during India's tour of the Caribbean in 2002, but failed to make an impact. Simon Briggs
