Colin Stuart
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 22, 2001
Wisden overview A Guyanese seamer with an awkwardly stiff-limbed action, Stuart made his Test debut against Australia in 2000-01 at the age of 27. In 33 previous first-class matches, he had yet to take a five-for. At Melbourne and Sydney, Stuart bowled at a nippy pace, but sprayed it a little. While Michael Holding, among others, felt he had the raw material to establish himself in the Test side, Stuart proved too raw for the liking of umpire John Hampshire during the second Test against Sri Lanka at Kandy in 2001-02. Stuart sent down two beamers in three balls to Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya, and was banned from bowling for the rest of the innings. Simon Briggs
