Tim Munton
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 21, 2001
Wisden overview One of the most trustworthy English seamers of recent times, Munton's huge frame thunders up to the wicket, where his arms get into such a tangle that, from behind, it looks as if he's hugging himself. Munton's forte is movement off the seam, although he can get the ball to swing away from the right hander as well. His batting at No. 10 is careful but limited. Munton won his only two Test caps against Pakistan in 1992, but was outbowled by Neil Mallender at Headingley and never played again - although he did go on his third and final A tour four winters later as a replacement for the injured Mike Smith. A Warwickshire regular from 1985, Munton stood in for Dermot Reeve as captain halfway through 1996, but missed the entire 1997 season through injury, and lost his position to Brian Lara in 1998. He joined Derbyshire as vice-captain for the 2000 season. Lawrence Booth
