West Indies v England 1929-30
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 15, 2001
Toss: West Indies - F.I.de Caires, G.A.Headley, E.A.C.Hunte, E.L.St Hill, J.E.D.Sealy, L.A.Walcott; England - Hon F.S.G.Calthorpe, W.Voce.
Although gaining a first-innings lead of 98, the MCC could not force a win. With de Caires, Roach, who hit twenty 4s during his stay of two hours and three-quarters, added 124, while sound work by Sealey further helped to bring West Indies a good total. MCC batted consistently, Sandham and Hendren doing particularly well. Thanks to Roach, Headley and de Caires, West Indies in their second innings had MCC 320 on the board when their fourth wicket fell but the last six went down for 64. MCC had only two hours and three-quarters in which to get 287 and, of course, did not attempt the task.
