Sameer Dighe
Wisden CricInfo staff - July 6, 2001
Wisden overview A feisty character, Mumbai wicketkeeper Sameer Dighe entered international cricket at a ripe 31. At the crease, as in his career, he is a man who needs time to get going. Once in the groove, he can be deceptively destructive, but it was an edgy, scampering 22 on Test debut leading to a thrilling series win over Australia, that is likely to be his most memorable innings. As a keeper he is not known as the world's best, and has sometimes performed below his ability. Still in and out of the Indian side, he is a stalwart for Mumbai, who he has represented - and now captains - with distinction since 1990. Rahul Bhattacharya
