Andrew Hudson
Wisden CricInfo staff - July 6, 2001
Wisden overview Comfortably claims the title "Mr Nice Guy" from all other contenders in South African cricket. Some would say too nice. The last of the international walkers, Andrew Hudson even managed to give himself out when the ball hadn't carried during his Test career. Famously Christian, along with Jonty Rhodes, "Hudders" was never afraid of a cold beer and a chat while on tour and many youngsters shed a tear on his shoulder. He seemed set for fame and fortune after scoring 163 in South Africa's first post-isolation Test at Bridgetown in 1991-92, but somehow didn't quite fulfil his talent. Hudson frustrated several coaches and administrators with an apparent lack of passion, but the passion was in the goodness of his heart. Great hands at third slip or gully, he also had a hook, cut and pull to die for on his day. Neil Manthorp
