INDIA v SOUTH AFRICA 1999-2000
Wisden CricInfo staff - July 3, 2001

At Jamshedpur, March 12. India won by six wickets. Toss: South Africa.

Keenan Stadium's reputation for being a high-scoring ground did not daunt the Indian bowlers, backed by run-saving ground fielding and improved close catching. South Africa could not even bat through their full quota of overs and only Cronje, staying for 27 overs, managed a substantial contribution. India's reply was completely dominated by Ganguly's 12th one-day international hundred. Severe on the spinners, he hit four sixes and ten fours in a delightful exhibition that put his team 2–0 ahead in the series and gave India their first win in their six one-day internationals at this venue.

Man of the Match: S. C. Ganguly.
