Again, Twose and Cairns shored up the innings, but it totalled a disappointing 179. Gandhi, in his first one-day international, and Ganguly opened with 117 in reply, and Ganguly went on to take his aggregate for the series to 301. He outshone all other batsmen in the match in scoring 86, with 12 fours and a six. Though Vettori dismissed him and Tendulkar in four balls, Dravid saw India to a comfortable victory.
