A meeting of the Development Committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board was organized on the 19th July 2001 at 3.00 p.m. Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury, the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Chairman of the Development Committee presided over the meeting. The following decisions were been taken there:

Cricket Academy: Bangladesh Cricket Board will set up a full Cricket Academy in Cox's Bazar within 2004. Side by side, a decision was taken to set up Cricket Academy at Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong and Khulna with modern facilities within the next four years.

Indoor & Gymnasium: Bangladesh cricket Board will set up 15 indoor stadium and Gymnasium facilities in different parts of the country including 6 Divisions within June 2002. Under this project, preliminary stage indoor & Gymnasium facilities will be developed in Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Barisal within December 2001.

Coaches, Umpires & Scorers Training Program: Within 2004, the country will develop a training program for the coaches. The program would be comprised of three parts. In Level-1, 400 coaches will be trained. In level-2, the number stands for 80 and Level-3 would offer 30 coaches to participate in the program.

This program would benefit the umpires, scorers and the curators too. They would receive some special training, which is going to be implemented within 2004.

Player Registration Week Under this program, a decision had been taken to register players all over Bangladesh from August 24 to August 30.

Sports Injury Centre: Bangladesh Cricket Board will build up Sports Injury Centre in every division within a year.

Cricket development Tournament: Under this program, the Cricket Development committee will organize age-based (Under-13 & Under-15) tournaments in all districts.
