James Schofield signs on for Hampshire Vic Isaacs - 12 July 2001
Hampshire's conveyor belt of talent appears to be fully operational after the Second XI's leading wicket taker agrees a deal with the club until the end of the season. 23 year old James Schofield has taken nearly 40 wickets in just 6 matches with the seconds, that has helped them to top the table in The Second XI Championship. Schofield who was born in Blackpool in Lancashire, has already had trials with Lancashire and Worcestershire. Following in the footsteps of those other young bowlers, James Hambln, Chris Tremlett and Zac Morris, he has all the attributes that could force his way into a first team place. © Hampshire CCC
