Streak expects a rapid Kiwi response
Lynn McConnell - 3 January 2001

Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak is expecting to feel a New Zealand backlash tomorrow in the second game of the National Bank series after the way in which his side thrashed the home team in the first game in Taupo.

On a slower pitch at Wellington's WestpacTrust Stadium, conditions should better suit New Zealand.

"The slower deck at the stadium will help New Zealand but Dirk Viljoen and others in our team also can do well on slower pitches," Streak said.

The ground is new to Zimbabwe which played its Test match with New Zealand on the Basin Reserve, the traditional Test venue in the Capital city.

Streak said New Zealand would have a lot of pressure on it to do well in Wellington and they would come out with a good response.

"They're not going to lie bacck. We have our work cut out and we will have to think about all the things they are going to try and do to counteract us.

"We haven't won a series offshore before so we have a lot to play for," Streak said.
