Radio legends reunited for first day of Auckland Test 27 February 2001
Auckland Cricket will launch New Zealand's Test series with Pakistan in style at Eden Park next Thursday. It is reuniting outstanding radio broadcasters Iain Gallaway and Jeremy Coney to speak at a breakfast on the morning of the first day of the first Test at Eden Park. The breakfast, which will be hosted by former Test fast bowler Danny Morrison, will run from 7.30am until 10am. Iain Gallaway and Jeremy Coney were among the first broadcasters to lend their considerable wit to the coverage of cricket matches, and in so doing created for their listeners a far more vivid image of the play that was unfolding. Their humorous interpretations of the game are the way many will remember some of the great moments of New Zealand cricket. Gallaway and Coney also have the perspective of seeing the game from a different angle, with Gallaway the immediate past President of New Zealand Cricket and Coney a former New Zealand captain. You have the opportunity to ask the questions you want to hear in this breakfast chat. Tickets for the breakfast cost $50 each or $500 per table of 10. Included in the price is a full buffet breakfast and a ticket to the first day's play. © CricInfo
