WP B score sensational one run victory over Namibia Peter le Grange - 17 February 2001
Namibia produced a thrilling run chase, falling just two runs short of a stunning victory with eleven overs left in the day's play. The innings was anchored by Gavin Murgatroyd, who scored a solid 121 in just over 5 hours (305 min, 259 balls, 21 fours). However, the second new ball produced the breakthrough as five wickets fell for 50. A last ditch effort by the Sussex professional James Kirtley, dropped on 16 with eighteen runs needed, and Rudi Scholtz took the visitors to the brink of victory before Scholtz, after fending off a Paul Harris over, tried to heave the last ball out of the ground with disastrous consequences. Harris was again the best of the bowlers, ably supported by Ryan Joffe and Renier Munnik, who both bowled with pace and aggression.
