Districts' Trophy clash transferred to Napier Lynn McConnell - 2 February 2001
Central Districts' game with Northern Districts, due to be played at Masterton, starting on Tuesday, has been transferred to McLean Park in Napier. CD chief executive Blair Furlong said today the game had been transferred due to the unsatisfactory nature of the pitch at Masterton's Queen Elizabeth Park. "The pitch at Masterton needs redeveloping and there are problems with the outfield and pitch surrounds. "The groundsman wasn't confident he could give us a first-class pitch. We had the New Zealand Turf Culture Institute take a look at it and decided to make the change," he said. The change has come with complications however, as Napier is nearly booked out with events on in the city. However, Furlong has been able to get accommodation for the two teams. © CricInfo
