A tale of two spells
Wisden CricInfo staff - December 5, 2001

Harbhajan Singh didn't look much ofa threat in his first spell of 12 overs (12-1-45-0), largely because Nasser Hussain and Graham Thorpe played him so well. Only 11% of Harbhajan's deliveries in that first spell troubled them enough to induce uncontrolled shots - that's edges, or play-and misses, or shots where the batsmen didn't look entirely at ease.

But Harbhajan clearly enjoyed his tea - it was a different story when he came back after the interval. His second spell was a searing 7.3-3-6-5. This time 40% of the shots played against him - that's two in five - were uncontrolled ones.
