South Africa v Australia 1902-03 Wisden CricInfo staff - August 30, 2001
Played at Johannesburg, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, October 18, 20, 21.- In the second Test match, the Australians opened badly against the bowling of Kotze and Llewellyn, and the South Africans when they finished their first innings with a lead of 65 runs entertained hopes of victory. Sinclair played a great innings, scoring his 101 in just over two hours. True to their traditions, the Australians played up finely, and in the end they won the game by 159 runs. Armstrong went in first and carried his bat right through the second innings, his fine batting making up for the failure of many of his colleagues. The South Africans never looked like getting the 245 set them to win, Saunders bowling in his finest form and carrying all before him. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
