It's in the mix Wisden CricInfo staff - August 25, 2001
The chart gives a graphic illustration of where Shane Warne needs to pitch the ball to take wickets. All six of his victims on Saturday were dismissed by balls landing within the line of the stumps. So why does Warne bowl so many balls outside off and leg? Because it's that very variety that brings in the wickets. Whereas the pace bowlers have aimed at or outside the line of off-stump all summer, Warne mixes it up, giving the England batsmen more things to think about, testing their concentration. He's gone for a few runs this time - but you expect that on a batsman's pitch, and his 400th and 401st Test wickets were well worth the price. To the team as well as to him.
