Somerset pre-season friendly truncated
Richard Isaacs - 16 April 2001
Hampshire's two-day pre-season friendly with Somerset was cut to just a single day, as the saturated state of the Taunton outfield put paid to hope on Sunday.
Both captains agreed that the run-ups were too dangerous to contemplate play on Easter day, but agreed a day of sunshine and a brisk breeze would aid the drying process and allow for a full day on Monday.
A 55-over match between the two sides was arranged with a 10.30am start.
