Sinclair will not play in Perth tournament
Lynn McConnell - 2 April 2001
Outstanding Central Districts batsman Mathew Sinclair is not joining the State Central Stags at the Champions Cup tournament in Perth for the matches against hosts Western Australia and Mumbai.
At the conclusion of the Test match in Hamilton, Sinclair decided that the trip to Perth to play two matches, and return to Christchurch for the New Zealand team debrief, while also preparing to leave for Sharjah with the New Zealand side at the weekend and also the annual national awards evening on Friday, was too much of a rush to do justice to his performance.
The Stags have 13 players in Perth and the team will be selected just before each match by selectors Basil Netten and Dipak Patel.
