  • The catch of Chris Harris was 50th for Grant Flower in his 136th match. He became second Zimbabwean and 41st fielder to do so.

  • The fifth wicket partnership of 95 runs between Roger Twose and Craig McMillan is New Zealand's best for this wicket against Zimbabwe. This obliterates the previous record stand of 68 between Craig McMillan and Adam Parore at Bulawayo on 01-10-2000.

  • Paul Wiseman (4-45) became the 10th bowler on 11th occasion to take a four wicket haul in matches in Kenya. He also became only the third to do so on his first appearance after India's Sunil Joshi (5 for six v South Africa on 26-09-1999) and Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan (4 for 18 v Kenya on 28-09-1996).

  • Wiseman became the third New Zealander to capture four wickets in a match against Zimbabwe after Shayne O'Connor (5 for 39 at Wellington on 06-02-1998) and Daniel Vettori (4 for 49 at Hamilton on 04-02-1998). Wiseman's figures are also his personal best beating 2 for 21 against Australia at Auckland on 19-02-2000.
