To watch or not to watch? Katrina Keenan - 18 December 2000
Monday 18th December Training today at 9 am. We headed out to Lincoln Green for a fielding session. It is excellent to be able to access grounds like this to train on. After the fielding session we headed indoors to the High Performance Centre for some skill work. After training we grabbed a packed lunch and deliberated over whether to watch the first semi-final live (as in right outside our room) or indoors on the couch courtesy of Sky TV. Most of us did both – watching the game live and then running back inside for the television replay. In between the cricket I made time to do a bit of hair dying. Helen (E.T) Watson was first up for a semi permanent – followed by some blonde foils. With the plastic gloves on and plenty of blonde peroxide to go around Marion and Clare lined up for a few highlights – it was quite the hair salon. Em Travers chipped in with her usual line of "Treens would you mind if I make a suggestion". In my usual receptive manner I replied "Yes….go on" – the up shot was that Em joined me in an "understudy" type role. I let her separate the hair, rip the tin foil into sheets and wash the client's hair afterwards…….. actually it was a very good team effort! The team headed into the city for a meal before returning to Lincoln for a quiet evening. © CricInfo
