A day off in the life of ....White Ferns Katrina Keenan - 2 December 2000
Saturday 2 December An early start for many of the girls today as they undertook some individual fitness training. Haidee (Bill) and I went out for a run this morning and came back in enough time to enjoy breakfast and get organised for a team meeting followed by training. Our training session today at Burnham went from 11-2pm and we ended the session with some pool work. To our surprise and delight the pool was a stunning 29 degrees!!! This afternoon we had some time to relax and many of the players caught up on some "housework" eg laundry and then walked across to the BIL Oval and Lincoln Green to watch the games that were on. By 6.30pm we were quite peckish so we headed off to the dining hall for dinner. Tonight's menu consisted of pumpkin soup, chicken, rice, beans, potatoes covered in cumin seeds, cauliflower (a hint of cheese sauce) and a selection of salads and fresh breads. Following dinner there were several dessert options. Tonight the choices were, some sort of strange jelly thing - with fruit, hokey pokey ice cream, fruit salad and a cheeseboard. After a very pleasant meal we retreated to our Pavilion to catch a movie on Sky. Nic Payne came to the party again with a slither of Dutch chocolate – good on you Nic! After a day of training and rest we look ahead to tomorrow's game against Sri Lanka. © CricInfo
