1st ODI: West Indies v Zimbabwe, Statistical highlights

  • It was the sixth match between the two sides. WestIndies has won all six.

  • Kallang became 133rd ground to host a ODI.Singapore has now hosted One-Day International cricket matches on two different grounds.Five matches were played in Singapore in April 1996 at Padang.

  • Umpires Darrel Hair and Riazuddin were officiating in their 52nd and 8th match respectively.Incidentally it was the first time Riazuddin was performing this duty in a ODI outside Pakistan.

  • Andy Blignaut was making his ODI debut.He became 56th player to play for Zimbabwe in a ODI.

  • Alistair Campbell was playing his 100th consecutive match since playing against India at Faridabad on 19 March 1993. He became second Zimbabwean and sixth player in ODI history to play 100 or more matches without a break.The record, however, stands on the name of India 92s Sachin Tendulkar, who played 188 matches at a trot.   • The 114 runs partnership between Alistair Campbell and Andy Flower is Zimbabwe 92s best for this wicket against WestIndies.This obliterates the previous record stand of 30 between Jack Heron and Dave Houghton at Worcester on 13 June 1983.

  • The partnership of 61 runs between Andy Flower and Stuart Carlisle is Zimbabwe 92s best for sixth wicket against WestIndies.This eclipses the previous record stand of 37 runs between Duncan Fletcher and Kevin Curran at Birmingham on 20 June 1983.

  • Ridley Jacobs became the second wicketkeeper (after Australia 92s Adam Gilchrist) to perform the allround feat of scoring 40 runs and effecting 4 dismissals in a match on two occasions.The previous such occasion for him was against Scotland at Leicester on 27 May 1999. Overall it was seventh such instance in ODI history.

  • Ridley Jacobs won MoM award for the second time in his career.
