Unbeaten 152 by Rickey

Patiala: A superb unbeaten 152 by Raveent Rickey helped Punjab score 304 for five in 90 overs against Haryana on the opening day of their second league match of the Cooch Behar tournament at the Dhruv Pandove stadium here on Monday.

Electing to bat, Punjab lost opener Munish Sharma without any run on the board but the other opening batsman Ravneet Ricky & skipper Yuvraj Singh put on 85 runs for the second wicket and took their team to a good position. Yuvraj Singh contributed 25 runs. Gaganinder Singh who joined Rickey was also out without opening his account. Then Manav Dhuper and Rickey established the innings and got their team out of the woods by adding 127 runs for the fourth wicket. Dhuper contributed 75 runs with the help of ten boundaries.

At close of play Rickey was batting on 152 while Ankur Sondhi was on 8. Rickey hit 18 boundaries in his marathon knock of 365 minutes during which he faced 277 balls. Joginder Singh took two wickets for 64 runs.
