INDIA v KENYA 1997-98 Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1999
At Calcutta, May 31 (day/night). India won by nine wickets. Toss: Kenya. India exacted revenge for their defeat three days earlier when they cruised to a simple win. After eight overs had brought two wickets each for Prasad and Agarkar, Kenya were reeling at 23 for four. Ravindu Shah had gone for eight – his first failure in five innings. But Hitesh Modi and Otieno gamely set about repairing the damage. Otieno assumed the anchor role while Modi, compiling a fluent 71 from 93 balls, played his shots. Prasad later took two more wickets to claim four for 23. For India, Tendulkar hit 100 in 103 balls, with 13 fours, his 16th century in one-day internationals. He and Jadeja saw their team home with 15 overs unused. Man of the Match: S. R. Tendulkar. Man of the Series: S. O. Tikolo. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
