Sharjah fixtures scrambled
Trevor Chesterfield - 11 December 1999
Port Elizabeth: South Africa?s second Sharjah tournament includes
an interesting omission in the three-cornered contest from March 22 to
31 which also involving India and Pakistan.
In what appears to be an oversight by the organisers South Africa play
only one game against Pakistan. As there is a four-day gap between the
South Africa game against India and the final, no doubt the second
outing will be slotted into one of those dates.
The Sharjah tournament comes after South Africa?s tour of India
with the first game between South Africa and India followed by
India?s game against Pakistan on March 23. The Pakistan game
against South Africa is the next day with March 26 set aside for the
second India-Pakistan outing followed by the second India and South
Africa game.
After which there is a relaxing four days to the final, and at which
point the second game between South Africa and Pakistan will be
played.
