KARACHI, Sept 2: Former captain Rashid Latif quit the training camp in progress at the Qadhafi Stadium in Lahore and left for Islamabad. Javed Miandad, camp commandant and team coach, said he had granted permission to the diminutive wicketkeeper who had joined the camp on Friday.

``He was uncomfortable after being replaced as senior team captain and also being ignored for the Commonwealth Games. He is not adjusting to the new setup,'' Miandad said from Lahore.

According to a close aid of Latif who is also attending the training camp, the wicketkeeper was upset with the way he had been treated by the authorities and the players.

Latif's friend, requesting not to be quoted, said he blamed several players for changing their attitudes towards him after he was replaced by Aamir Sohail. ``He was upset because he felt he was being ignored by those who happened to be very close to him on the last tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe.''

Miandad said he had a long chat with him and also tried to persuade him to change his approach. ``On tours like Canada, only one wicketkeeper has to go.''
