Kumara Sangakkara 200 not out in NCC's 402/3 dec.

Former Trinity College captain Kumara Sangakkara stroked a superb unbeaten 200 as NCC amassed 402 for 3 declared in their BCCSL under-23 cricket tournament match which commenced yesterday against Kurunegala Youth CC at Maitland Place. Kurunegala YCC in reply were 20 for 3 at close.

Sangakkara was in top form hitting 17 boundaries in his 285 minute stay at the wicket where he faced 220 deliveries. After putting on 134 runs for the third wicket with Asela Pathirana (56 with four fours), Sangakkara, was associated in an 192-run stand for the unbroken fourth wicket with Pradeep Hewage, who was unbeaten on 100 with five boundaries. Hewage batted for 113 minutes and faced 99 deliveries.

Scores:

NCC: 402 for 3 declared in 73.3 overs (Kumara Sangakkara not out 200, Anil Redeegammanagedera 23, Asela Pathirane 56, Praeep Hewage not out 100, Sameera Kohatapitiya 2 for 72).

Kurunegala Youth CC: 20 for 3 in 17 overs.

Antonians 184

Antonians helped by a useful half century by F. Joseph (60) and 57 from C. Samarasinghe made 184 in their BCCSL Under-23 cricket tournament match against Moors at Braybrooke Place yesterday. Moors in reply were 90 for 2 at close.

Galle CC 233/9

Galle CC were 233 for 9 at close against CCC in their BCCSL under-23 cricket tournament match at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

The highlight of the game was the 49, hit by Banuka Ratnayake with six boundaries and a six who put on 74 runs for the fourth wicket with Chanaka Vithanage (28).
