The ceremonial re-opening of Moratuwa Sports Club pavilion will take place today at 6 p.m. with Mr. Jeevan Kumaranatunga - the Deputy Minister of Samurdhi, Youth Affairs and Sports as chief guest. The building was in a dilapidated condition and it has undergone a complete change.
The guests of honour will be Messrs Tyronne Fernando - a former Board of Control president and Colombo District MP, Thilanga Sumathipala president of Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka and Arjuna Dias - Chairman, Sommerville and Company Limited and Patron of Moratuwa Sports Club.
The special guest will be Messrs Aloy Ratnayake - Chairman, Lake House, Thilak Thabrew - Magistrate MC and DC Moratuwa, Hermon J. C. Perera and Eardley Perera, Vice-patrons of Moratuwa Sports Club, Rohan Perera - Chairman, Pramuka Savings and Investment Bank, A. I. K. Chadradasa - Mayor of Moratuwa Municipal Council.
The main sponsor of the event will be ANZ Grindlays Bank.
The president of Moratuwa Sports Club is Chrisantha de Silva, the general secretary Willet Fernando and treasurer Prasanna Fernando.
Thushara Madanayake takes 7/32

A deadly spell of spin bowling by Thushara Madanayake who captured 7 for 32 for Kingswood College was the highlight of their Coca Cola Bottlers trophy cricket tournament match against Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya which ended in a tame draw at Pannipitiya.
Kingswood College who scored 163 in their first innings were propped through an innings of 71 with 8 fours by Lasitha Ekanayake. When the Palians batted spinner Thushara Madanayake ran through the innings to have figures of 15-9-32-7.
