Royal led by 4th year coloursman, Thushan Amarasuriya open their inter-school cricket season with a game against Richmond on Friday at Reid Avenue.
The team consists of 8 coloursmen and has a strong batting line-up with experienced openers Ravi Pieris and Angelo Perera, followed by Thushan Amarasuriya, Jehan Mubarak, Ruchira Jayasuriya and Dhanushka Perera. Andrew Perera the younger brother of the opening batsman will keep wickets.
The pace attack is led by Sanjeeva Udumalagala with Harshana Rajakuruna and Amarasuriya in support. The spinners are Mubarak (off spin), Harith Rajakaruna and Dhanushka Perera (left arm) and Fazal Ahamed (leg spin).
The team is coached by former Sri Lankan opening batsman, Nihal Koddituwakku and the Master-in-Charge is Sudath Liyanagunawardane.
Practice game on 13 October
The first of a series of one-day limited-over practice matches to select the team of 14 players to represent Sri Lanka in the Wills International tournament at Dhaka from October 24 will be played at the SSC grounds on October 13.
Roshan Mahanama and Hashan Tillekeratne will lead the two sides consisting of a list of probables.

Samaraweera century
Former Colts all-rounder Tilan Samaraweera hit a century (104) and took a match bag of six wickets for 24 runs to steer his new club SSC to an innings and 101 runs win over Kandy YCC in a Under 23 youth cricket match played at Maitland Place over the weekend.
Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene was also in the runs completing a century for SSC who ran up a total of 301.

Trinity shot out for 79

Trinity College were shot out for a paltry 79 in their Coca Cola Bottlers Trophy cricket tournament match against the lesser known Vidyartha College which began at Police grounds, Kandy yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.45 a.m.
Left-arm spinner Sarath Ranaweera proved to be the wrecker capturing 5 for 12 in 14.4 overs with 8 of them being maidens. Sarath Ranaweera appears to be taking a liking to the lions batting as two years he captured all nine wickets that fell for just 105 runs. Last year this fixture was not played.
