St Albans struggled through to 83 for seven wickets. The only useful partnership was between Carrie Murdoch and Nicola Payne for the second wicket. After some early setbacks, Park captain Lisa Astle steered the innings around in company with Paula Flannery (14) and then in a 50-run stand with Debbie Hockley.
Thirty-five overs were scheduled at Burwood Park, but accurate South Canterbury medium-pacers Megan Samuels and Miranda Walker wrapped up the East-Shirley batting for 53 in less than 26 overs.
South Canterbury needed only 13 overs to win by nine wickets and move into second position.
Jane Maley played a pivotal role in Marist's 40-run win over St Albans Gold. She scored 41 as the backbone of Marist's innings, then took vital early wickets to have St Albans at 16 for three.
