New Zealand: Pitch full of runs
The Christchurch Press
6 October 1998
The run-laden Lincoln Green pitch lived up to its reputation as the
New Zealand Academy cricket team amassed 342 for six from 69 overs
batting against Central Districts. Yesterday was the first day of a
two-day match and the Academy's first of its home season.
It made capital on the flat batting surface with openers Lou Vincent
and James Marshall leading by example with half centuries in smart
time. Vincent's 58 came from 78 balls and Marshall's 52 in 76 balls.
The most successful of the Central bowlers were Glen Sulzberger with
three for 61 overs and Campbell Furlong two for 80.
