St Albans produced a competitive 173 for eight from their 40 overs yesterday. The visitors wanted just four from the last over, but Matt Gower only yielded one.
Marist was an emphatic 109-run winner against Old Collegians at Warren Park with a forceful 77 from Darron Reekers setting the tempo.
Riccarton joins Marist, St Albans, and Mid-Canterbury in the final four after High School Old Boys defaulted their match.
In the women's matches, East-Shirley overpowered a composite Sydenham and Mid-Canterbury side by 10 wickets, while St Albans won comfortably over Marist. They join South Canterbury and Canterbury Country, which had first-round byes, in the semi-finals.
