Interviewed in London for SABC radio news, Lara said ``I'm as much in the dark as anybody else is. I don't know what anybody else is thinking and we will have to wait until all the parties come together to see what the state of affairs is.''

``We regret the action taken by the Board. This is not what we wanted to happen. The players are all very keen for the tour to South Africa to go ahead.''

Ali Bacher, UCB chief executive, will bring to the negotiating table a personal plea from President Nelson Mandela to all the parties in this dispute. Mandela feels a tour by the West Indies has a significant role to play in the 'healing process in post-apartheid South Africa' and is pleading with the various parties to resolve the impasse so that the tour may go ahead.
