CRICKET: Tamar Lambert, with a boundary-filled century yesterday, paced Jonathan Grant High to an exciting six-wicket victory over Wolmer's Boys at Heroes' Circle to complete a clean sweep of their Sunlight Cup Group B semi-finals.

The victory has placed the Spanish Town team in their second consecutive final with defending champions Kingston College after they also had semi-final victories over St. George's College and Bridgeport Comprehensive.

Jonathan Grant resuming on their overnight ten without loss yesterday chasing Wolmer's 285, lost two early wickets after adding just one run to their overnight score.

Pacer Ryan Wiggan had both openers when he took a return catch to dismiss Leroy Wilson for one and then bowled Brian Chambers.

However, number three batsman Gerald Morgan (37) and Andre O'Sullivan (70 not out) posted 64 runs for the third wicket to take the score to 75 for three before Morgan was caught and bowled by Wolmer's captain Carlton Baugh Jnr after an entertaining innings that contained a six and six fours.

Morgan's demise brought captain Lambert to the crease and, after working the ball for a couple singles, he launched an assault on the Wolmer's bowlers hitting the ball to all parts of the field at will.

Lambert and O'Sullivan put together a solid 193-run, fourth-wicket partnership. Lambert completed his second century of the season from 161 balls with 16 boundaries before he went leg before to Baugh for a top score of 117 at 268 for four and Jonathan Grant needed only a further 18 runs for victory.

Bryan Lundy was unbeaten on six as only Wiggan with two for 35 from eight overs and Baugh two for 95 got among the wickets.
