Recognition of a Women's Cricket Association

Three different Women's Cricket Associations, all of whom claim to be
genuine and oldest have applied to the PCB for official recognition on
temporary or non-temporary basis. PCB also wishes to resolve this
matter in the larger interest of the game of Women's Cricket. The
matter was referred to PCB's Scrutiny Committee to determine and
recommend as to which Women's Association is authentic. The PCB
Scrutiny Committee comprising of Maj. Gen (R) Safdar Ali Khan and Mr.
Javed Zaman Khan (Convenor) held a meeting at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore
on 26-03-98 and heard the case presented by Mrs. Shereen Javed.
Subsequently all Women's Association were advised to submit relevant
information and documents to PCB in the PCB prescribed format by 11th
April 1998. Women's Association which do not submit the required
information by the deadline shall not be considered for the Scrutiny
process. Next meeting of the Scrutiny Committee shall be held on
16-09-98 at 9:00 a.m. at PCB Head Quarter, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The last date of submission of relevant documents by the 3 Women's
Cricket Associations is 11th April 1998 and the next meeting with
these Associations will be held on 16th April and not 16th September
as reported in a section of the press.
