PAKISTAN v ZIMBABWE Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1998
At Sharjah, April 9. Pakistan won by 32 runs. Toss: Pakistan. As each team had one win to its name before this match, they were playing for a place in the final. Zimbabwe had high hopes when their seamers had Pakistan reeling at 51 for seven after 19 overs. But Moin Khan organised the tail, especially Saqlain Mushtaq, to add another 100 runs. When Zimbabwe set out in pursuit of just over three an over, Waqar Younis removed both openers cheaply and two further bursts of wickets saw their involvement in the tournament ended with nearly ten overs to spare. Man of the Match: Moin Khan. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
