He hit three fours and two sixes in 132 balls. But Pakistan slumped to 86 for five before first Moin Khan and then Wasim Akram provided him with some support. Parore had played a similar role for New Zealand. He helped them to recover from five for three, and was finally run out at 189 for nine in the penultimate over, seven short of his hundred, as Saqlain Mushtaq mopped up the tail.
