ZIMBABWE v INDIA Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1998
At Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, February 15. Zimbabwe won by eight wickets, their target having been revised to 136 from 38 overs. Toss: Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe, who had just pressed India close for a place in the final of the triangular tournament in South Africa, beat them hands down in Bulawayo. Following the 3-0 triumph over England, it gave them a clean sweep of their four home one-day internationals in 1996–97. Rain reduced the match to 44 overs a side and Campbell asked India to bat. They struggled to 95 for six before Robin Singh and Kumble added 64, while Streak returned five for 32, his best one-day international figures. A target of 169 became 136 when showers cut another six overs. Zimbabwe won with 12 overs to spare, Grant Flower leading the way with nine fours in his 61. Man of the Match: H. H. Streak. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
