Kurunegala Sports Club made 226 for 9 wickets declared and Old Cambrians made 227. In the second innings, Kurunegala Sports Coub were 175 for 5 wickets at close of play.

TWIN centuries by De Mazenod skipper Priyasad Seneviratne (102 and 105) was the highlight of high-scoring drawn inter-school cricket match against St. Anne's at Kandana yesterday.
Seneviratne made 102 in De Mazenod's first innings total of 297 and in their second innings, he made 105 not out in the total of 159 for one wicket.

HOLY CROSS trounced C.W.W Kannangara MV, Matugama by 8 wickets in their schools cricket match at Kalutara yesterday. Kannangara MV made 255 in their first innings while Holy Cross replied with 275. But in their second turn Kannangara MV flopped and were all out for 89 leaving Holy Cross to make 70 runs to win which they achieved for the loss of two wickets.
The highlight of the game was the right-arm medium-pace bowling of Holy Cross skipper Chaminda Ruwan Kumarage. He captured 6 for 23 and in eight games so far has taken 54 wickets. He has also scored 798 runs so far which includes two centuries and five half centuries.

Rajans tour India

DHARMARAJA COLLEGE Kandy cricket team will make its first ever tour of India on February 16 at the invitation of Gopalapura Sports Club, Madras.
The Rajans will play five limited over matches during their ten-day stay including matches against M. R. Foundation and Indian Cement Company.

THOUGH Wesley had a 19-run lead over Royal in the first innings the latter by virtue of their outright win under Nalliah Rajan in 1995 retained the Sir Frank Gunasekera Memorial Shield in their schools cricket match at Reid Avenue yesterday. Wesley made 249 for 8 declared in their first innings with Royal in reply declaring at 230 for 8. In their second turn, Wesley once again declared at 173 for 5 leaving Royal a victory target of making 194 runs in only 26 overs. But Royal were 85 for 2 at the close.
In Royal's first innings Ruchira Jayasuriya (56 with four boundaries) and Shanaka Perera (67 with 10 fours) put on 71 runs for the fourth wicket while Perera and Lasantha Liyanage (27) made 50 runs for the fifth wicket.
In Wesley's second innings there was a good 63 run stand for the second wicket by A. Jaldeen (39 with five fours and six) and Nalin Balasuriya (36) while Prasad Amarasekera (38) and Indika Ranasinghe (15 not out) put on 44 runs for the fourth wicket.

CENTURIES by Hirantha Wijesinghe(121) of Mahinda and M.Pushpakumara (118) and a match bag (10 for 129) by Sajith Rupasinghe both from Ananda were the main feature of their drawn cricket encounter at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.
Wijesinghe's century helped Mahinda reach 291 in the first innings and Pushpakumara's 'ton' compiled off 92 balls with a six and 19 fours was chiefly responsible to see Ananda reach 314 for 9 declared.
