Prince of Wales recorded their first win in 15 years over Trinity when they scored a handsome eight-wicket victory in the schools cricket match concluded at Moratuwa yesterday.
Trinity following-on 159 runs in deficit on the first innings were dismissed for 203 in their second innings, leaving the home team 45 to score for victory. The Cambrians knocked off the runs losing two wickets.

The Thomians ended the first day on a high note, scoring 253 for 9 declared and capturing five Ananda Sastralaya wickets for 92. The match continues today at 9.45 a.m.

In the inter-club 50-limited over one-dayer organised by the Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka and played at Albert Pieris Stadium, Wennappuwa, Colts CC ladies registered a 17-run win over Samudra CC.
Colts who won the toss and opted to bat first, were all out for 161 runs in 44 overs with Himali Samarajeewa doing the damage, claiming 3 early wickets.
Rasanjali de Silva top scored for the visitors with a steady 45 before she was caught behind.
In reply, Samudra Girls were all out for 143 in 45 overs with Himali being top scorer with 29 runs.
* Four new faces have been included in the Sri Lanka national pool for the forthcoming tour of South Africa. With the addition of Don Anurasiri, Niroshan Bandaratillake, Pubudu Dassanayake and Prasanna Jayawardena, there are 25 members in the current national pool.
Selection committee sources said there could be further additions depending on the performance of Sri Lanka 'A' players and in the Sara trophy division 1 tournament. Sri Lanka team is due to make their maiden Test tour of South Africa starting early next month. During their seven-week stay in South Africa, Sri Lanka will also figure in a two-Test series and in a three-nation one day international tournament from April 3 to 23 which also features Pakistan.
* Sri Lanka 'A' team for the third and final unofficial Test against the visiting England 'A' will be a blend of experience and youth. With Sri Lanka national team's maiden Test tour of South Africa around the corner, the national selectors are expected to give a chance to ex-Test players while introducing several up and coming players too.
Experienced middle order batsman Hashan Tillakaratne, struggling to keep his place with the bat after a dismal record during the last 12 months, is strongly tipped to lead the Sri lanka 'A' side at the third unofficial Test which starts at Moratuwa Stadium on Friday. Ex-Test openers Chandika Haturusinghe, Duleep Samaraweera and wicket keeper bat Pubudu Dassanayake, who are enjoying a good time in the domestic premier league, could also impress the selectors. Among the youngsters who could find a place in the final line-up for Friday's 'Test' are left-arm spinner Niroshan Bandaratillake, wicket keeper Prasanna Jayawardena, top order bat Pradeep Hewage and leg spinner Malinga Bandara.
* The United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCBSA) said that the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka has ratified their forthcoming series which include two Tests and a three-nation tournament starting early next month. Official sources said the World champions are due to arrive in Johannesburg on March 5 on a six-week tour.

* Sri Lanka will play in their ninth one day international tournament since winning the World Cup in March, 1996 when they take part in a three-nation tournament in South Africa in April this year. The third team taking part at the triangular tournament is Pakistan.
Since beating Australia by seven wickets in the 1996 Wills World Cup final in Lahore, Sri Lanka has played in eight one day international tournaments and have won four of them - two in Sri Lanka (Pepsi Asia Cup and Singer World Series Cup), one each in India (Pepsi Independence Cup) and Sharjah (Singer-Akai Cup). World champions Sri Lanka will start their first three-nation one day international tournament for the year when they take on the hosts South Africa in Johannesburg on April 5.
