``I was not contacted by the authorities. The news has come to me through you,'' said the cricketer-turned-actor.
Mohsin declined to comment if he would accept the cricket board's offer but minced no words in saying that it would be a paid one. ``Obviously, it is going to be a paid job,'' he remarked.
The former stylish opener said technically the authorities should contact him. ``They haven't approached me but might contact me tomorrow.
``I don't know if I would accept the offer. The terms and conditions of the contract have to be discussed. Until these issues are settled, it is difficult to predict if I would accept the challenge,'' he stated.
He was, however, optimistic that by Monday he would be able to reach a decision.
He was also unclear about what constituted a junior team. ``I presume that it would be an Under-19 and A teams. But these need clarification which I should get by Monday.''
Mohsin, who was one of the candidates for the senior team coach, put up a brave face saying he was not disappointed. ``I am happy for Javed Miandad and wish him good luck.''
